Hiding
I run back into the place I once called home. The bodies of the only people I had in this world are lying there. I feel no pity for them. They deserved it. I run into my bedroom, touching the door frame three times before I enter. When I am in the room I make sure I do not touch anything else. I go to my dresser and use an old pair of jeans to open the drawer. I had been saving up to move out in the coming years, I didn’t even have to wait very long. I go over to the shelf where the knife once lay. Damn it, there is a ring of dust around where the knife should lay. I run back outside and find a rock that matches the size of the knife. I go back to the room, making sure I tap the door three times.
